Issues - Special Order
Regional
issues in the Northern Territory are available to all residents of the NT
regardless of residential location. The plates are made in six styles. All plates depict an image over a full sun and a
descriptive slogan. The plate slogans and images are:
Darwin - Barra Country - Leaping Barramundi fish
Katherine - Cattle Country - Stockman on Horse
Tennant Creek - Gold Country - Miner
Arnhem Land - Best Kept Secret - Pandanus Palm
Alice Springs - The Red Centre - Rider on Camel
Palmerston - City of the Future - Gecko Lizard

Public Passenger Bus 'MO'
1953
- 1992 Yellow on Black
Various makers resulted in a variety of print styles and an odd plate size.

From 1992 - Dark Blue on Reflective Gold style used with Outback Australia slogan.

The large 'MO' variety may be an error but there are a number of this type still in use.

Bus plates also available in Personalised style. 'James' and 'VIP' being local companies.

Issued to small shuttle type passenger vehicles with less that 20 capacity.

Regular
issue Bicentennial. Sequence 400 000 to 414 999.
Screen print changed at 408 000.
Personalised
issue Bicentennial. All personalised plates have NT at left.
Up to 4 character combination.

Northern
Territory Government 'NTG' All Government plates start
with number 8
Plate 800 000 is used on Chief
Minister's official car.
For Government cars and trucks. Two series 800 ### to 814 ### and 850 ### to 858 ###.

Motor Cycle. Mostly for Police bikes.
